I found a girl who also interested in doing research project about artists — Laura. She suggested Marc Chagall and Salvador Dali, and I suggested Giacometti, Constantin Brâncuși, or Nogochi. I only have limited knowledge of Marc Chagall and Salvador Dali, but I’m very interested in doing research about them.
We both agreed it’s better to find an artist who has exhibition in New York City so we can get very close to art works and we might get different inspiration from the online source. We went to Guggenheim museum on Saturday to see if we both like Giacometti. Laura told me she liked it, and we make outline of our research project.
Our rough topic is “visualized and non visualized”, and we are going to analyze his sculptures and painting from three aspects: spatial and perspective, shape and spirit he wants to transfer to express, color and materials. We are going to compare his art works before and after WWII.
We are going to Guggenheim on Tuesday again to shot the video since Wednesday is the last day of exhibition.
